Following on from the recent news and publication from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), we wanted to reassure our customers with our Company guidance about the supply of non-sterile alcohol-free wipes.
On 5 February 2026, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) republished its guidance of 4 August 2025 regarding an outbreak of Burkholderia stabilis infections in the UK, which was linked to the use of non-sterile alcohol-free wipes.
The links to the gov.uk pages are below -
Understandably this has caused concern, so we wanted to provide some reassurance and guidance as you may have similar products on site, or be unsure as to what products are affected.
Elliott’s DO NOT supply any of the brands mentioned in the government articles. The Click Medical brand and other brands that we supply, including Blue Dot and Wallace Cameron, have not been affected by the contamination.
This also covers all first aid wipes supplied in Elliott’s first aid kits and refill kits.
If you have purchased first aid wipes from any other supplier we recommend you check the brand of wipe provided, the affected ones listed below -
ValueAid Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes
Microsafe Moist Wipe Alcohol Free
Steroplast Sterowipe Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes
Reliwipe Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes (testing revealed contamination with a Burkholderia strain not related to the outbreak cases)

The details of the first aid wipes we supply can be found below -
